So, your God is good with hate and breaking the law?
Speaking of hate, when I was in Oklahoma this weekend I attended a Halloween parade. There were floats, costumes, sheriff’s campaigning (with their float), a group from mensa (carrying signs that said “We want braaaaains”), OKC Pride, a gym that specializes in Strip Aerobics, and also a group of atheist -
There was a mother with her children standing next to me and Kris. They clapped and shouted as the floats passed by, until it got to the atheist group. When they walked by, one of her children asked her what an atheist was. The mother said, “They’re bad people. They don’t believe in God.” The child said, “They don’t like God and I don’t like them. BOOOOOOO!” Then her mother started booing with them just as loudly and shouted “You’re going to Hell!” Kris, who isn’t even and atheist, and I started cheering and waving at them simultaneously. We were very much alone in this and received some dirty looks, but we didn’t care. It just makes me sad when I think of this woman teaching her children to hate.
