Today I reclaimed a small piece of my youth.
Went into Half Price Books. Grabbed some comics, looked at some DVDs, and of course, looked at the used copies of The Dresden Files. Im a fan of picking up used copies of books I love to simply give to others…
I looked to my left and saw the Oz books, 1-6, all lined up nice and neat. I dont know why they were in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section and not the kids/teen section but I damn near bought all six on impulse. Ended up just getting my favorite of the series, book 5. The Road to Oz.
I had the first 7 Oz books when I was a kid. My mom gave them to my aunt, and she gave them to someone else. This book is from the same print run as mine were.
Part of me wonders if one day I will look at a copy in a used book store and find the inscription to myself from my aunt, from 1981.. a la “Serendipity.”
Polychrome looks awesome on the cover there… So full of bright and beauty…
