Dear people who think the Chrisopher Reeve Superman costume was better than the Henry Cavill …
WTF?! Seriously. Love the modern take on it. The primary red, blue and yellow of the late 70s is not getting the job done in this generation.
This is akin to thinking that Val Kilmer’s Batman costume was better than Christian Bale’s Batman costume. Seriously… nipples and all.So, my immediate reaction when I saw a picture of the suit from Comic Con was “MY EYES!” But really, I don’t dislike this that much. The one thing that drives me nuts is how ti sends my eyes directly to his crotch. There’s like arrows pointing to it. So, here’s my very slight alteration: I would have added some red across the waist, like a little red on either side of the silver bit that already looks like a belt. It would draw more attention to the waist and away from the crotch, also it would give a little nod to the red panties. Yup.
I dont like the “texture” look of the new one. I also dont like the faded blue, too close to gray. I think the new 52 Superman suit is okay. Im also a big fan of the Eradicator suit, where the Shield and Cape are connected. I think there was a Superwoman/girl outfit that was similar.
And if the Red Yellow and Blue is not getting it done for this generation, fine. This generation loves Twilight. And Justin Bieber. And thinks Blink 182 is Punk. My opinion of what “this generation” thinks is good is less than… Well, its not good.

Artist Highlight: Yildirai Cinar (2012)
Yildirai Cinar is a Turkish artist, one who have incredible talent on his own, as you can see. I’ve chosen to display some of his best work, showcasing his strength as penciler and colorist of his own art, and his love for the DC Universe (He also does Marvel pieces, check his DV account to see some great renditions of Marvel heroes). The reason I chose his DC work was also to point out the main gripe I have with this guy. It’s not about his trace, sense of proportion or the use of his tools, this man make most of these masterpieces with copic markers, watercolors and Bristol paper and that alone amazes me.
But… the moment this guy hands over his art to an inker or colorist his work loses all deepness and detail, suffering a great deal (as you can see here). Is not that it looks bad, it’s looks average at best. Still this is just a very personal judgement. I love Yildirai’s work, and if past posts are proof, you guys love what this man does too. This artist has an attention to detail very few artists have nowadays, and every character he draws achieve his purpose: Batman looks menacing, Superman looks powerful, yet naive and so on. For that reason alone he gets all my praise and admiration.

A statue featuring superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman was displayed during a media preview for the Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The exhibit examined how Superman, Batman, Spider-Man and others have influenced big-name fashion designers.
Justice League by *JPRart
I’m a big fan of DC’s new 52, especially Justice League by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, its fantastic! …and I thought it would be fun to do an homage to the classic Jim Lee cover for X-men #1 featuring the members of the Justice League.
So feigenbaumsworld asked me to take pics of all my Heroclix, similar to how I posted pics of my dice in the past…
My Avengers collection. This will obviously grow in the near future.
My Spider-Man collection.
My pitifully small X-Men collection. This will grow in time Im sure.
My Hulk collection.
My Batman collection. This will grow due to the several Batman themed sets coming out later this year.
My Street Fighter collection. Small, but the figures are just kinda okay and Id rather invest in other stuff, though the sculpts are cool. I also hear there are another SF series in the works, so may pick that up instead.
My Superman collection. Superman was a great set. And I have a handful of older figs as well.
My Marvel Cosmic collection. This will grow soonest as the Galactic Guardians set is being released this week. Very excited.
My Lantern Corps collection. I have spent more time and money filling this set out than the others. Well, time at least. Thank god for Ebay. Still need a decent Sinestro.
Not pictured- My Justice League/Teen titans collection. Or my “random box” which is filled with characters from all over that dont fit into any set that I can think of. People like Daredevil and Punisher.
